State of Colorado Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention
Three Year Plan (2015-2017)
Pursuant to Part B of Title II of the federal JJDP Act, the Office of Adult and Juvenile Justice Assistance (OAJJA ) is required to complete a Three Year Juvenile Justice Plan (with annual updates) which is completed in conjunction with Colorado's Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (JJDP) Council. This plan includes a description of the organization, responsibilities, and functions of the major components of the formal juvenile justice system. The JJDP Council also conducts an analysis of current juvenile crime problems and juvenile justice and delinquency prevention and educational needs within the state. Based on the magnitude, seriousness, rate of change, persons affected, and other aspects of a problem, the JJDPC then selects which program areas will be its priorities for use of the federal funds.
