Local Law Enforcement Grant

The Local Law Enforcement Grant (LLEG), is a subgrant of the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG). The purpose is to provide Colorado's local law enforcement agencies with funds to underwrite projects to reduce crime and improve public safety.

The Local Law Enforcement Grant (LLEG) is open to Colorado local law enforcement agencies that are not recipients of a direct award of JAG funding from the federal Bureau of Justice Assistance.

Normally, the LLEG program opens for applications in July/August of each year with applications due in the Fall.  If awarded, funds will be for a 6 month period from January- June.

Unfortunately,  due to reductions in
federal JAG funding,  there will be no 2015 LLEG solicitation.  Potential applicants are encouraged to apply for 2016 JAG funds when they are announced in January 2016.  Those funds would be awarded to successful applicants on October 1, 2016.
